Treating Elbow Pain

Lateral epicondylitis, also known as tennis elbow, is a common injury that causes pain, tenderness, and inflammation on the outer side of the elbow, near the lateral epicondyle. Tennis players, pitchers, and others who repeatedly use their wrists and arms for work or recreation may develop this condition.

Repetitive wrist and hand motions associated with these activities are the primary cause of tennis elbow. Poorly planned swing mechanics, excessive tool weight, lack of appropriate warm-up, and grip strength issues may also contribute to the development of lateral epicondylitis.

If you suspect you have tennis elbow, effective pain management therapies are available to alleviate your symptoms.

Non-invasive therapies like physical therapy and occupational therapy help target the muscles and tendons involved in the elbow motion, as well as strengthen proper arm and grip position to prevent future recurrence of pain.

As pain management specialists, our goal is to get to the root of the underlying cause to develop a personalized and dynamic plan of care.
